It was a magnificent 17-room mansion built from stone mined on the 121-hectare site. The style of the home, and its position on the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Niagara_Escarpment\">Niagara Escarpment<\/a> high above Colpoy&#8217;s Bay were reminiscent of Alexander&#8217;s family&#8217;s estate in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>Today the site, north of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wiarton,_Ontario\">Wiarton, Ontario<\/a>, is known as  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greysauble.on.ca\/ca-spiritrock.html\">Spirit Rock Conservation Area<\/a>, part of the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority and the Niagara Escarpment Program.<br \/>\n<br clear=\"all\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Corran Originally uploaded by rgdaniel The Corran (Gaelic for &quot;point of land running into the sea&quot;) was the homestead of Alexander McNeil (1882-1932).
