Soon after I declared that our frogs were too big for that snake, the snake must have taken that as a challenge because he got a frog by his presumably delicious frog&#8217;s leg. (Tastes like chicken?) He held on long enough for me to run (okay, walk briskly) inside to get my camera. <\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rgdaniel\/27785760416\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"Frog and Snake 2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c1.staticflickr.com\/8\/7086\/27785760416_bedab4bed6_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" alt=\"Frog and Snake 2\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rgdaniel\/27785758796\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"Frog and Snake 1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c5.staticflickr.com\/8\/7465\/27785758796_305d7a2ac5_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" alt=\"Frog and Snake 1\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Just as I was despairing about the cruelty of the universe and\/or realizing it&#8217;s all part of Nature&#8217;s Grand Pageant \/ Life&#8217;s Rich Tapestry, a burst of violent, valiant thrashing about and the frog was free!  He fled to the middle of the pond and hung there, looking a bit blue in the face, one leg dangling unnaturally. A nearby tadpole says &#8220;Dude, at least you <em>have <\/em>legs!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a data-flickr-embed=\"true\"  href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rgdaniel\/27785757196\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"Blue-in-the-Face Frog+Tadpole\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/c5.staticflickr.com\/8\/7403\/27785757196_d114c3262d_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"433\" alt=\"Blue-in-the-Face Frog+Tadpole\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, work continued on the first section of our willow fence, meant to dissuade Cody from tearing up the scenery where I worked so hard to get grass growing again. If he can confine his mad dashes to the wood-chip path, we&#8217;ll all be happy.
