The best part about carving (try chip carving–just one knife) is you can do it anywhere, which means you can bring your work in from your frozen shop and make chips while sitting at the kitchen table, in front of the TV, or in bed. Just make sure you carve while sitting in a carpeted room. Your wife won’t mind. Really.

No, I would never stoop to such low brow wordplay… unless it occurred to me…

What DID occur to me was that I should try and carve something into it… but unlike you, Kari, I don’t have any carving tools… or skills… and I was beginning to lose the feeling in my frozen fingers…

I love the images. Of course, I have a huge cat bias! I think you did a nice thing, letting them use your artwork. I also think you are right to say ‘no’ to most people. I sell stock photos, and on occasion I give a few away too.

Thanks Paco! I feel your pain about woodworking in a small place… I was in the same position before I got the shop set up… and I learned a new word … “bricolage”… interesting… Wikipedia says “the construction or creation of a work from a diverse range of things which happen to be available”

Thanks Kari!! It’s looking a little “busier” now it’s full of components… including a CD changer that sticks out more than everything else… the one thing I didn’t allow for… it’s like 3 inches deeper than any other component… oh well…
